Three Vancouver iTech Preparatory students created a history exhibit that is featured in a virtual showcase hosted by the Smithsonian National Museum of American History via the Smithsonian Learning Lab.

Jonah Campbell, Clark Hegewald and Grant Myers’ exhibit titled “No Need for Translation: The Apollo-Soyuz Mission” is one of 51 projects— created by middle and high school students from across the U.S.—that were selected from the National History Day competition to be featured in the showcase. The iTech students are the only students from Washington state represented in the showcase. John Zingale is their teacher.

The theme of this year’s National History Day is “Communication in History: The Key to Understanding.” The iTech students’ exhibit examines the historic project that brought together former spaceflight rivals the United States and the Soviet Union.
