iTech Students and Families,
As we are “getting into the groove” of distance learning we want recognize and acknowledge that the closure of schools has significantly impacted all of us. Learning from home is our new normal, and we understand the stress and impact on balance that this dynamic has created. We want to sincerely thank you, our families, for your partnership during this time! We truly could not do it without you.
I also want to thank our students who have stepped up and shown great resilience and flexibility to engage in remote learning. We know this is not easy and are thankful for your hard work! Now more than ever we feel so very fortunate for the wonderful students that we have here at iTech. I am so proud of our whole community in how they have responded during the last month.
I also wanted to thank our teachers for working hard to adapt to this new format of learning. Teachers have collaborated to identify best practices and what is working for our students to create valuable learning experiences in this time. I am always amazed by the innovation and ideas that come from this wonderful group of professionals. While I always feel so fortunate to work with such a strong and professional group of educators, I am especially proud of our staff’s individual and collective efforts and attitudes during this time. Next week (May 4-8) is Staff Appreciation Week. I hope you will join me in sending messages of appreciation to the teachers, secretaries, custodial and support staff who make iTech such a special place!
New Information:
Quarter 3 grades will be posted in Skyward next week. For details on grading changes during the closure, see the grading document in the HUB linked below.
Reminders:
Please visit our “HUB” linked here . This is a place where we post general documents that will help students and families stay organized and informed. Students will still go to Canvas for specifics on their classes. We will add to this as we go.
Included in the HUB are:
  • Templates to organize your week and create a “schedule”
  • Documents with Zoom meeting times for teachers and their classes (These are scheduled times for teachers but know that you can always contact teachers with questions via email or Canvas as well)
  • Grading guidelines for the closure period
We also know that some students and families may need some help in coming up with schedules and structures. Our counselors are happy to help you if you need it, you can reach them at:
6-8 Ms. Arden- rita.arden@vansd.org
9-12 Mrs. Campagna- megan.campagna@vansd.org
I hope that you are having a great week and staying safe.
GO RAVENS!
