Raven Community,

We have some updated information on the plan for having students return to in person learning here at iTech. As you know, last, Wednesday the plan for offering students more in-person learning days for VPS students was announced. District communication here.

We are currently evaluating the new guidelines and student capacity of our building and space to determine if we will be able to bring back additional students to the 6th and 9th grade cohorts identified in prior communication. Updates in red below:

Starting May 10th we will be bringing in all 6th and 9th graders who are currently coming in 2 days a week for 4 days a week (M,T,Th,F).

The staff will also be identifying students in 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades that need increased in-person support and they will be invited back for all four days as well. Criteria for identification of these students is as follows:

  • Priority will be given to students who are ELL, students on an IEP/504, students receiving services related to McKinney-Vento, students furthest from educational justice.
  • 12th graders will be given priority.
  • The focus is to provide instructional support to engage students in the general education curriculum.

Students currently attending 2 days a week in grades 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th that would like to request to come in 4 days a week can do so through the survey below. These requests will be granted as space allows.

Survey is due Tuesday, May 4th by 5pm.

We will continue to follow WA Dept of Health Guidance.

We will have more information coming in as we get closer to May 10th.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

GO RAVENS!

Thanks,

iTech Staff
