iTech High School Sophomores enrolled in the Pre-Engineering and Design course completed a design challenge to ‘Manufacture a Smile’ as Friday, October 6th 2017 was both World Smile Day and National Manufacturing Day.
Students learn about 3D modeling in both digital designing using Autodesk Tinkercad then using software to unwrap the 3D smile objects they designed then physically constructing out of paper / cardstock with glue, create the smile objects.
The project is designed to encourage creative expression and going through the process of having an idea and within a week and a half having that idea physically sitting on the table in-front of them in 3D realness.
